Two killed as truck ramps police van in Asom

Guwahati, Nov 5 (UNI) Two persons, including a police man, were killed when a truck ran over their official van during a routine check near Beltola police station in the city late last night.

Police sources informed today that the van was parked in middle of the road to block trucks for routine check. The incident occurred at about 2330 hours. However, the truck did not halt and proceeded on its course, running over the van.

A police man and the driver of the van, who were inside the vehicle, were killed, police said.

The truck was later seized but the driver and handyman managed to flee.
