Two helicopters, Naval diving team pressed into service
Hyderabad, Nov 5 (UNI) Two helicopters from Bangalore and two naval diving teams from Visakhapatnam have reached Krishna district today to help relief and rescue operations in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasham districts, Chief Minister's Office said.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the flood situation with top officials and instructed all the departments concerned to continue relief operations in full swing without any delay as the rain had almost stopped and clear weather returned in the flood-affected areas.
Mr Reddy directed the district collectors to undertake road repairing works on a war footing.
Health department has been directed to monitor the situation and post medical teams in all the affected villages.
Municipal Administration, Roads and Buildings, Irrigation, Agriculture departments and AP Transco have been asked to work in tandem. The agriculture department are asked to immediately take up enumeration work for crop loss and help paying the insurance amount ,input subsidy and other assistance to farmers.
Dr Reddy appealed to the people to donate generously to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to mitigate the sufferings of the affected people.
Clothes, rice and housing materials could be send directly to the respective District Collector's office at Prakasham, Krishna and Guntur districts.
