Three LeT militants killed in two encounters
Jammu, Nov 5 (UNI) Three militants of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e Toiba (LeT), were today gunned down by the troops in two separate encounters in Doda and Poonch district, official sources said.
Acting on a tip off, troops of 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Task Force (STF) of state police laid an ambush in the hilly forest area under Phagsoo police station and killed the militants early this morning.
The militants have been identified as Mohammad Ahmed Alias Abu Furkan and Mohammad Irfan also Abu Abdulla, both residents of Pakistan.
Another encounter took place at Sangiote area in Poonch late last night where the security troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police gunned down Ziafar Shah, a LeT commander.
Security forces recovered one AK Magazine, three grenades, one RPG, two wireless sets, one Pika Gun, one AK 56 rifle, two Magazine, 96 Pika rounds, 47 AK rounds and one radio set during cross firing.
A kutcha house of Mohd Zaman S/O Khazar Din was also damaged.
