SUCI condemns Saddam's death sentence

Kolkata, Nov 5(UNI) Condemning the death sentence awarded to the deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today called upon the people to strengthen the anti-US 'struggle' in Iraq.

In a statement, party General Secretary Nihar Mukherjee alleged that the sentence awarded to Saddam was the result of a 'mock trial staged by the puppet government at the behest of the US imperialist force'.

''This judgement of the trial court constituted and conducted by the US imperialists tantamounts to a declaration of murder of Saddam Hussein,'' he said.
