SP murder accused held

Jamui, Bihar , Nov 5 (UNI) Six hardcore activists of proscribed CPI(Maoist), responsible for killing of then police superintendent of Munger K C Surendrababu, were arrested from Dighra and Chinberia villages in the district today.

Police said acting on a tip-off, a massive search operation was launched to nab the extremists in more than six villages of Jamui. The arrested Maoists confessed their involvement in killing of Surendrababu and Arun Kumar, then mukhiya of Kharagpur panchayat, police added.

Operation was on to recover the firearms dumped by the extremist in the area, police said.
