Sangini Jewellers opens 50 outlets in current fiscal

Kolkata, Nov 5 (UNI) Sangini Diamonds, a joint venture of Sanghavi Exports and Gitanjali Group, will open 50 showrooms in the current fiscal across various Indian cities.

Sanghavi Exports chairman Vasant Sanghvi today told UNI more than six outlets would be opened in Kolkata.

The company today opened it's first Kolkata outlet in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd's petrol pump, Mr Sanghavi said adding that the future outlets might not be opened in petrol pumps.

Sangini currently had 150 showrooms across the country and the turnover in the last fiscal was Rs 30 crore.

''We will mainly cater to the middle and upper middle income group,'' he added.

Sangini is getting proposals from other oil companies to open outlets in their petrol pumps. The company is still considering those proposals, he said.

HPCL Chief regional Manager Retail K S Rekhi said,'' In order to use our petrol pumps judiciously, we have allowed the Jewellery company to open the showroom. Two years' back, we have opened a company owned retail outlet where everything household items are available.'' More spacious pumps in Kolkata have been identified in the city where company owned or dealer owned outlets would be opened soon, he added.
