Reliance Dadri deal to be approved after polls
Lucknow, Nov 5: In a major respite to the power starved Uttar Pradesh, the proposed mega power plant of the Reliance Energy Limited at Dadri would get the nod of the centre over the gas supply next year.
Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav talking to mediapersons here confirmed that the gas agreement would be made after the assembly polls of UP.
Though the CM refused to say anything further, he commented that a major hurdle in the setting up of the unit has been crossed.
Reliance unit at Dadri would generate 3500 megawatt of power by 2010 but due to non-clearance of the gas agreement the project has been delayed.
Meanwhile, the state government is likely to hand over the Roza thermal power plant project to Reliance after the Aditya Birla group made their exit. The 1000 MW plant would be set up in next five year time.
The project would be given to the Reliance after the state cabinet approves the proposal of the Energy Task Force.
