Protest march by Left against Saddam's sentence

Kolkata, Nov 5 (UNI) The ruling Left Front in West Bengal today organised protest marches all over the state in protest against the death penalty of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

''We took out protest marches in different parts of the state as a mark of protest against the death penalty of Saddam Hussein. It was a mockery of trial in which he has been awarded the sentence,'' Left Front Committee Chairman Biman Basu said.

Saddam Hussein was found guilty of crimes against humanity today and sentenced to hang at a lightning session of the US-sponsored court that has been trying him in Baghdad for the past year.
