Preserve folk culture and heritage, says Kokje

Shimla, Nov 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje today called upon the people of the state to preserve its folk culture and heritage.

Addressing people on the closing ceremony of Renuka Fair today, Mr Kokje said traditional songs, folk art and instruments were relevant even today and reflected the ancient culture of the country.

Fairs and festivals were the mirrors of the culture and would help in preserving them for the future generation besides making them aware about it, he said.

Earlier, the Governor paid obeisance in the Parshuram temple and Mata Renuka Temple and also participated in the ''Dev Vidai'' procession.
