PMK urges people to observe Rajapakshe visit as 'Black Day'

Cuddalore, Nov 5(UNI) Alleging that Sri Lankan President Rajapakshe was cheating the people in India and abroad under the pretext of peace talks, Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) founder leader, S Ramdoss today exhorted to observe November 17, the day Rajapakshe visits India, as ' Black Day'.

Talking to newspersons at his Thailavaram residence here, Dr Ramdoss called upon the people to wear black dresses and to hoist black flags before their houses to register their protest and added that he would lead the party volunteers in a black flag demonostration in Chennai on that day.

He said the demonstration by the CPI(M) in connection with the local body election will create a black mark on the coalition leader, DMK.

He said the attempt by Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy to acquire fertile land for the expansion of the Puducherry airport without the knowledge of the Lt Governor was thwarted with the help of the PMK, MP.

Dr Ramdoss also said that political training was being accorded to the party caders so that they could understand the nuances of functioning in the political circle and also to develop self-confidence. Such training would be accorded to 10,000 women and 5,000 men, he added.
