Manavala Jeeyar passes away

Kancheepuram, Nov 5 (UNI) Vathikesari Azagiya Manavala Jeeyar Swamigal, the 19th seer of the 500-year old Vaishnava Mutt, Little Kancheepuram, died at a private hospital in Porur near Chennai yesterday.

The seer, an ex-serviceman was associated with the installation of the big entrance door at the eastern tower of the famous Varadharaja Perumal temple here.

The final rites of late seer was held as per the Vaishnav agamam at Tolgate garden here after his core devotees paid their homage to today.
