Leading PGTI golfers to participate in Tata Open

Jamsehdpur, Nov 5 (UNI) Defending champions S S P Chowrasia is among the top golfers to take part in the fifth Tata Open Golf Championship beginning at Beldih and Golmuri courses here tommorrow.

The championship would be inaugurated by Abhik Sarkar of Ananda Bazar group of publications and commence with the Pro-Am competition tomorrow followed by the 72-hole stroke play from November 7 to 10.

Apart from Chowrasia, other leading Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI)players Rahul Ganapaty, A S Lehal, Harinder Gupta, Digvijay Singh, Uttam Singh Mundy and S Madhiya would be seen action on the lush green golf courts here for the coming four days.

Captain of Jamshedpur Golf and the Managiang Director of Tinplate Company of India Limited, B L Raina said about 70 golfers are participating in the championship,which has prize money of Rs 20 lakhs where the winner would get a purse of Rs 3,24,000.
