Large cache of arms, ammunition seized in J
Srinagar, Nov 5 (UNI) Security forces have seized huge quantities of arms and ammunition during operations in different places of Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said today.
He said security forces seized one 12 bore gun, six cartridges, 15 AK rounds, 12 rifle (.303) rounds and three kg explosive material during a search operation at Basantgarh in the Adbak sector of Udhampur district of Jammu region last evening.
Police busted a militant hideout at Banjani Sunger forest area in Ramban area of Doda district on Friday and seized ten kg Potassium, five kg Sulphur, 97 kg acid, 30 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), three kg Vaseline, four kg candles, 61 detonators, four timers, five rifle rounds (.303), two IED boxes, 30 kg iron pieces and 50 kg mixture powder, the spokesman added.
He said security forces unearthed a militant hideout in Farkeen forests of Kupwara district in north Kashmir last evening and seized one AK rifle, 90 rounds, one grenade, one wireless set, four UBGL grenades, two IEDs and two RPG rockets.
