Indo-Bangla border trade to resume by Feb 07
Aizwal, Nov 05: As Bangladesh prepares to go to the polls early next year, the Centre has decided to take up the issues relating to opening of border trade, land customs and inland water transport with it in February.
Referring to the recent communique of Union commerce ministry, official sources here today said that the Ministry would discuss the matter with the Ministry of External affairs and other ministers before finalising a decision on duty-free imports from Bandladesh.
The Union Commerce Ministry would offer financial and technical assistance to NE States for problems relating to export, trade-linked infrastructure, horticulture and handicrafts.
The officials said the next quarterly review meeting proposed by the Union Commerce ministry is scheduled to be held in January at Agartala, when the issues will be discussed.
