I am for Telangana state: Fernandes

Hyderabad, Nov 5 (UNI) NDA Convenor and former Union Minister George Fernandes today said he was for the formation of separate Telangana state and was ready to lay down his life for the cause.

Addressing a conference of Telangana Jana Parishat, which was also fighting for the formation of Telangana state apart from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Mr Fernandes, expressed total support for the cause of Telangana. He however, cautioned that no goal could be achieved without struggle.

He said speeches would not be able to achieve any result.

''Next time we meet, it would not be on a dias. It would be on the streets. It would be in the battle field. I am 77. At this age also I am willing to join your fight. I am ready to lay down my life for the cause of Telangana'', he said.
