CPI(ML) demands withdrawal of Saddam's death sentence

Ranchi, Nov 5 (UNI) Criticising America for its alleged responsibility for awarding death sentence by an Iraqi court to former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, the CPI (ML) today demanded withdrawal of the death sentence.

Party's state secretary Shubhendu Sen here today said that the death penalty to Saddam Hussein was a ''mockery of judicial values'' and was done on the direction of American President George Bush.'' Mr Sen said the American President was trying to take people's favour in the forthcoming mid-term polls scheduled on November 7.

He said the American troops were still camping in Iraq and any judicial proceeding in their presence was flowed.
