CPI(M) takes action against N N Krishnadas MP

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 5 (UNI) The state committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala today decided to keep away Mr N N Krishadas MP from the party elected forums, as he committed mistakes which did not suit a party leader of his stature.

The state-committee also decided to induct Mr Krishnadas, sitting Palakkad MP, in the Palakkad area committee, a statement said here.

The meeting also decided to suspend Mr P A Gokuldas for a year from the party, alleging that he had violated the party discipline in connection with the Palakkad district convention.

It also recognised the Desabhimani local committee decision to expell Mr G Sakthidharan from the party for helping to start a periodical against the party and the Left Democratic Front movement, it added.

A political draft helping to strengthen the party activities right from the branch committee level was also approved by the meeting.

The meeting was attended by CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, politburo members V S Achuthanandan, R Umanath and S Ramachandran Pillai.
