Chandrasekhara Rao 'political opportunist', alleges CLP
Hyderabad, Nov 5 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress today alleged Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao with being a 'political opportunist', who was raising regional feeling among the Telangana people to gain political mileage.
Addressing the mediapersons here, CLP Secretary and candidate for Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-election Jeevan Reddy alleged that Mr Rao had failed to solve the plight of the people as an MP of Karimnagar constituency.
Rebutting the allegations made by the TRS Chief that the government did not allocate funds for the drinking water project taken up by the Centre in Karimnagar district, he said the government had allocated Rs ten crore for the project.
Stating the state government had allocated funds for the construction of irrigation projects in backward Telangana region, he said the separate Telangana issue was under consideration of AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
On by-election, Mr Reddy said the contest was serious and the Congress must work hard to defeat TRS.
