Bazaz for impetus to India-Pakistan dialogue process
Srinagar, Nov 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) president Pandit Bhushan Bazaz today urged India and Pakistan to expedite the ongoing peace process in the troubled state.
In a statement here, he also welcomed the forthcoming Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan in New Delhi.
''This would mark the resumption of the stalled dialogue between the two countries and ultimately help in the resolution of the contentious Kashmir issue,'' said Pandit Bazaz, who is currently on a week-long tour of the Valley.
He also appealed to mainstream and separatist leaders of Jammu and Kashmir to rise above their party and regional lines and not try to outdo each other or indulge in mud-slinging while finding a lasting and amicable solution to the vexed issue.
The JKDF chief urged the political and separatist leaders of the state to work with each other in an honest way to evolve a workable formula for the resolution of the long-festering Kashmir issue.
During his visit, he met a cross-section of people, including representatives of various Kashmiri Pandit organisations, and discussed the prevailing political situation in the state.
