Yediyurappa concerned over terrorists in K'taka
Bangalore, Nov 4: Expressing deep concern over reports of terrorists and subversive elements making Karnataka their home, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today assured the State Government's full support in strengthening the justice delivery system and facing the challenge posed by the anti-national forces.
''With terrorists and anti-national forces choosing Karnataka as their home, there is a need to fight them jointly and take on the challenge,'' he said, addressing the 13th State Level Conference of Judicial Officers here.
Mr Yediyurappa warned that delay in delivering justice and increased number of pending cases would lead to people's faith on the system getting weakened.
It may be noted here that two Pakistani ultras, allegedly owing allegiance to Al-Badr militant outfit, had been arrested in Mysore last month. Besides, a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant had been nabbed from the Gulbarga railway station some months ago and a lone terrorist had unleashed terror in the prestigious Indian Institute of Science here, killing a Delhi-based professor. The naxalite menace too was rearing its ugly head in the State, with their activities being on the rise in some pockets like Chikmagalur and Shimoga.
