Jethmalani wants Jessica case transferred to another court

New Delhi, November 3: Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani today moved the Delhi High Court seeking transfer of the Jessica Lal murder case from Justice R S Sodhi's court.

Mr Ram Jethmalani is representing Manu Sharma, the main accused in the Jessica Lal murder case.

A Division bench of Justices Sodhi and P K Bhasin issued a notice to the state on his application seeking transfer to another court and fixed the matter for hearing on Tuesday.

Expressing anguish over a report carried by a national daily saying Justice R S Sodhi recused in 2002 from hearing prime accused Manu Sharma's bail application as he was approached more than once on behalf of Sharma, Mr Jethmalani sought to initiate contempt proceedings against the newspaper.
