SRK celebrates 41st birthday
Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his 41st birthday today.
The actor who was seen in diverse roles in 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' (KANK) and 'Don' this year- has no special celebration plans, but will spend time with his family. Television channels aired special programmes to mark his birthday.
Khan was busy with the pre and post- release promotions of his latest film 'Don' and will soon begin shooting for Yashraj films' 'Chak De India' where he plays coach of a women's hockey team.
The superstar is unhappy with the criticism 'Don' has received.
The actor is also busy with the pre-production work of his film, Om Shanti Om', to be produced by him under his Red Chillies Entertainment banner. The film will be directed by choreographer-cum-director Farah Khan.
Last year, SRK celebrated his birthday in New York on the sets of 'KANK' where he had declared to give up smoking. Union Health Minister Anbumai Ramdoss quickly wrote to him, appreciating his decision and asking him to promote the government's anti-tobacco drive.
But, Khan said smoking was a personal choice. ''Who am I to ask youth not to smoke. Youth should listen to their parents not actors.
If parents say something is bad and should not be done, it should be so,'' he said. The 41-year-old actor who has cut down on smoking in the last one year, has often said that he felt good and healthy.
This year has been eventful for the actor who is referred to as King Khan or Badshah of Bollywood. Tag Huer, a leading watch company launched the SRK signature line of their limited edition and close friend Mushtaq Shiekh released his book 'SRK-Still reading Khan', a biographical account on the life and times of the actor.
