Protest against new rule

Puducherry, Nov 2 (UNI) As many as eight counscillors from Mudaliarpet today staged a demonostration in front of the branch office which distributes old-age pension, at Sithangudi here.

They were protesting against the new rule introduced that the applications for old-age pension should be forwarded with the initial of the respective legislators.

Previously, an eligible individual could get the pension by filling up an application and providing documents to prove the age and adress.

Police intervened and pacified the councillors who later dispersed.
