Pre-board pressured, DPS student hangs self

New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) Succumbing to pre-board exam pressure, a Class X student of elite Delhi Public School, Noida, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Preet Vihar residence in East Delhi.

Gyan Deep, son of a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Executive Engineer, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room by his mother this morning when she went to wake him at their Mausam Vihar residence in Preet Vihar, according to sources.

Family sources said he had gone to sleep at 2230 hrs last night and looked normal. However, they added that he was depressed for some time as he was weak in English and had even been pulled up by his teachers on this count.

Though no suicide note has been found, no foul play was suspected, said the police.

The family even got the post mortem waived, it added.
