Indian to double frequency on Dubai-Delhi route

Dubai, Nov 2 (UNI) Indian, formerly Indian Airlines, has said it will double its daily frequency on the Dubai-Delhi route from November 5.

The new flight IC897 will depart from Delhi at 0750 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0945 hrs. The same flight from Dubai would depart as IC898 with departure at 1100 hrs and arrival at 1530 hrs in the national capital.

With this additional flight, passengers would have multiple choice of travel to Delhi and can have more flexibility in their travel plans, a statement said here.

The new service will provide convenient connections to Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and other cities in the country.

This flight will also provide connections to Southeast Asian destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, it added.

With the new flight, Indian would now be operating 42 flights per week from Dubai to Indian destinations Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Calicut and Mumbai.

The number of flights operated by Indian from the UAE to India has gone up to 81 per week. The capacity growth in terms of number of flights in the last two years in the UAE has been more than 100 per cent.
