Defence deals will be more transparent: Antony

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 2: Defence Minister A K Antony today said the government will take steps to make defence deals more transparent.

Talking to newspersons at the ''Indira Bhavan'', the headquarters of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), here, Mr Antony said the Union Government was committed to ensure there was no lapse in safeguarding the security of the nation.

''Constant vigil would be maintained on issues relating to national security,'' he said.

Mr Antony, who was visiting his home state for the first time after being assigned the sensitive portfolio, also said he would pay attention to the development of Kerala.
