BSF jawan killed, another wounded in Srinagar
Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) Militants struck yet again in the heart of the city, killing a Border Security Force (BSF) head constable and injuring another this afternoon.
Official sources said militants shot at and critically wounded two BSF personnel from a very close range at crowded Regal Chowk near here.
The injured jawans were rushed to hospital where Mohammad Ashraf Khan died. The condition of another constable Rajpal, of the 143 Bn, posted at Pantha Chowk, was critical.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
On October 15, militants shot dead two Jammu and Kashmir police personnel at Lal Chowk near here.
About a dozen police, CRPF and BSF personnel were killed by the militants in the city during the past six months.
