BJP overjoyed about its victories in MP byelection
New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today expressed its happiness about the party's victory in byelections in Vidisha Lok Sabha and Malehra Assembly constituencies while deciding to comment on the defeat of former Chief Minister Uma Bharti's Bharatiya Janashakti Party.
BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley said the results had shown that the party and the government had the support of the masses.
Asked about the combined votes of Uma Bharti's party and Congress surpassing the votes secured by the BJP, he said it was for these parties to feel ashamed or otherwise to join hands.
Asked if the BJP would take Uma back since the party had proved its point, he said the issue was not before the BJP as she was running her own party.
Party sources privately feel that the loss for Uma in Malhera would effect on politics of the state as it is one constituency she should could claim authoritatively as her own. "She has not disagreed with BJP on idelogical grounds but claimed herself as an 'idealogical clone'. The clones can't be winners but can be spoilers at best", BJP sources remarked.
