Birla Power Q4 net dips 16 pc

New Delhi, Nov 2: Birla Power Solutions Ltd, a part of the Yash Birla Group, today posted a 15.5 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 1.58 crore for the fourth quarter ended September 30, 2006, as against Rs 1.87 crore during the corresponding period last year.

The company's sales for the period rose by 51 per cent at Rs 40.5 crore, as compared to Rs 26.81 crore in the same quarter last year.

An earning per share (EPS) of Rs 0.60 was registered as compared to Rs 1.79 for the same period last year.

The company recently diversified into Multi Purpose Engines and its application products including mid sized Pumpsets up to 40 KVA, Sprayers, Vibrators and Lawn Mowers etc.

It exports both generators and multi purpose engines to various countries around the world.
