Azhar offers prayers at Ajmer Sharif
Ajmer, Nov 2 (UNI) Seeking divine help, probably for a rehabilitation, Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin offered prayers at Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's dargah here today.
Azhar, who is facing a lifetime ban from playing cricket due to his involvement in match fixing, seemed happy after the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) decided to honour him on Saturday.
Moreover, the International Cricket Council's ICC) apparent withdrawal of objections against Azhar seemed to add to Azhar's joy.
Azhar laid a satin chadar on mazar sharif and offered flowers and prayed for the success of the Indian team in the 2007 World Cup to be held in West Indies. Saiyad Fazlul Matin Chisti helped Azhar perform ziyarat.
Azhar visited the indoor stadium later where he was welcomed by local cricketers and his fans.
