Two more held in Al-Badr terrorists' arrest case
Mysore, Nov 1 (UNI) Police today arrested two more persons besides suspending a constable in connection with the arrest of two Al Badr following encounter here on October 27.
City Police commissioner Praveen Sood told newsmen that the arrested persons Ismail and Raffiq had assisted terrorists Mohhamad Fahad and Ali Hussain in obtaining documents such as birth certificate from the corporation and Driving licence.
Mr Sood said they helped Fahad in obtaining birth certificate from the Mysore City corporation. Since Fahad not able to speak in Kannada and Ismail presented before the court as Fahad and obtained affidavit from the court to produce the birth certificate from the Mysore city corporation.
Raffiq, an agent, aided Ali Hussain to obtain driving licences from regional transport office within a single day. He also fabricated the SSLC marks card in the name of the Ali Hussain. Both the arrested persons would be produced before the court tomorrow, he added.
Five people have been arrested by the police besides the two terrorists of the banned Al Badr organisation, who had planned to attack some important installations in the State, including the Vikasa Soudha, housing government departments in Bangalore.
Ziaulla Shariff, a police constable attached to the Udyagiri Police Station was suspended for dereiliction of duty as he had failed to provide correct verification for Alu Hussain, who had applied for an Indian passport.
Mr Sood said an investigation team which visited Chennai found out that Fahad visited Chennai to meet his uncle M Koya, who operated a shop and helped FAhad in including his name in the ration card besides securing a driving licence for him. He had also certified that Fahad had been working in his shop for the last three years.
Khader, Half brother of Fahad was still at large, Mr Sood said.
