Swedish Company to open Design Centre

Bangalore, Nov 1: The growing number of IT design companies in the city would have one more with Swedish Caran Designs setting shop here.

Caran Designs India Pvt Ltd, is a subsidiary of the Swedish Company Caran would be inaugurated here tomorrow by Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi.

With over 1000 employees in Europe, Caran's main activities were in automotive, aerospace, telecom, life science and extend into many other areas. Its clients included Volvo, Saab, Scania, Sony Ericsson, Electrolux, Airbus and Bombardier Transportation.

In India, Caran planned to employ 100 engineers by end of 2007 and aims at a staff of 300 by the end of 2009.

Caran was part of the LogicaCMG group with a total workforce of more than 40,000 employees. LogicaCMG was already present in Bangalore, with more than 2,500 employees active in the IT sector.
