Robbers kill two after heist

Hajipur, Nov 1 (UNI) Criminals today gunned down two bank employees and decamped with Rs.35.80 lakh near Akara village on Hajipur-Muzaffarpur Road of Vaishali district.

Police said armed criminals intercepted a vehicle at a railway crossing near Akara village and sprayed it with bullets. The vehicle was carrying cash from the Muzaffarpur branch of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur. It was to be deposited in the bank's main branch at Patna.

Bank employee Manoj Kumar and security guard S K Tiwari were killed on the spot by the hail of bullets. The criminals decamped with the money, police said.

Before leaving the miscreants fired in the air to scare away passers-by. Police have started investigation and a case has been registered.
