Nagaland: Rio rejects Cong demand for Prez rule

Dimapur, Nov 1: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has reiterated that the state is peaceful and rejected the demands of the Congress for President's Rule in the state.

Addressing newsmen at Agri Expo here yesterday, Mr Rio accused the Congress party and the NSCN factions of hatching plot against the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government.

Referring the Congress's statement, Mr Rio said he was comfortable in his party and the NPF-led DAN government was 'sailing smoothly'.

''The DAN government will withstand all forces,'' he said.

He clarified that the government have deployed the Indian Reserved Battalion, police and Para-military forces at Zunheboto during the recent three-day-long clash. However, the forces have shown restraint.
