Nagaland: Rio rejects Cong demand for Prez rule
Dimapur, Nov 1: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has reiterated that the state is peaceful and rejected the demands of the Congress for President's Rule in the state.
Addressing newsmen at Agri Expo here yesterday, Mr Rio accused the Congress party and the NSCN factions of hatching plot against the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government.
Referring the Congress's statement, Mr Rio said he was comfortable in his party and the NPF-led DAN government was 'sailing smoothly'.
''The DAN government will withstand all forces,'' he said.
He
clarified
that
the
government
have
deployed
the
Indian
Reserved
Battalion,
police
and
Para-military
forces
at
Zunheboto
during
the
recent
three-day-long
clash.
However,
the
forces
have
shown
restraint.
