Ram Lalla 'darshan' hours extended

Ayodhya, Nov 1 (UNI) The 'darshan' hours of Ram Lalla at the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi complex here has been extended as 'Kartik Purnima Mela' started today.

District Magistrate Amod Kumar said the devotees would be able to offer prayers to from 0700 to 1200 hrs and 1300 to 1700 hrs.

The decision was taken to attract a large number of pilgrims in the Mela, he added.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Gupta said as threat of terror continues, local police has been pressed into round the clock security.

Meanwhile, police is keeping strict vigil at all sensitive and public places including the complex, Saryu ghats, railway stations and bus terminals.

Thousands of devouts are expected to throng this holy city during the mela.
