PM leaves for New Delhi
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left here for New Delhi after a two-day visit to the state capital today.
The special aircraft, carrying the Prime Minister and his entourage, took off from the airport at 1845 hours.
Defence Minister A K Antony, Kerala Governor R L Bhatia, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M Vijayakumar and KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala were among those present at the airport to see him off.
During his visit, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a new terminal at the international airport and a Rs 50-crore Air India maintenance base, addressed a special convention of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and inaugurated the golden jublee celebrations of the formation of Kerala.
