PCB to invite Aussies for home series before 2008 Champions Trophy
Lahore, Nov 1 (UNI) Despite their earlier proposals meeting with no success, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to host Australia before the 2008 Champions Trophy here.
The PCB will make a formal request to Cricket Australia (CA) during the ICC Executive Council meeting in Mumbai on November 3 and if things work out then the World Champions will be playing here for the first time since 1998.
The Aussies have repeatedly refused to play in Pakistan after that citing security concerns but has faced the sub-continental team on neutral venues.
''The Board will invite Cricket Australia (CA) for the Pakistan tour before the PCB host Champions Trophy in September 2008,'' 'The News' quoted a PCB source as saying.
