PAC proposes CBI probe, Govt disposes

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) The Delhi Government's refusal to follow Public Accounts Committee recommending in March this year a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into alleged financial irregularities in privatisation of power is brewing an agitation.

Delhi Legislative Assembly Public Accounts Committee headed by Dr SC Vats, according to a press release issued by an NGO Vyavastha Parivartan Gathbandhan, accused the Delhi Government of causing loss of several thousand crores to the government through financial irregularities in the privatisation of power.

The release reads further, "many citizens will march down the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg to Jantar Mantar on November 7 before gathering in front of Anuvrat Bhavan. The intended purpose is to explain the purpose of their agitation,".

The procession will have people from across all the sections of society including academicians, gandhians, advocates, writers etc.

Afterwards, another group of citizens will proceed towards the residences of Sonia Gandhi and Sheila Dixshit to offer Satyagraha and court arrest, according to the press release.

The release claimed, "the Congress leaders are believed to have minted money at the cost of people by committing financial irregularities in privatisation of power. Since the CBI enquiry was not ordered as recommended by the PAC, the needle of suspicion points towards Chief Minister Sheila Dixshit and Congress president Sonia Gandhi." UNI SSS PK VV1752
