Nagpur producer plans film on Akku Yadav

Nagpur, Nov 1 (UNI) A city-based producer plans to make a film on Akku Yadav, the notorious criminal who was lynched to death by a mob in a courtroom here in August 2004.

Producer Arun Pal Singh Behl said the script and dialogues for the film were ready. The two-and-a-half hour film would be produced in Hindi and dubbed in English for the overseas market.

Behl said the film would be directed by Badal Agrawal, who had worked as assistant to several prominent directors.

Yadav, a goon wanted in a large number of cases of rape, murder and extortion, was killed by a mob with swords, knives and sticks when he was inside a courtroom in Nagpur for a hearing on August 16, 2004. The incident had attracted international media attention.

Behl said he wanted to produce films with a social relevance through his production company Media One Vision. The film on Yadav would be the first.
