Life sentence awarded for murder

Patna, Nov 1 (UNI) A local sessions court here today awarded life imprisonment to two people in a murder case.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 each on both convicts.

The amount of the fine would be paid to the wife of the victim, court ruled.

Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Ram Prawesh Sharma found Srikant Sharma alias Krishnkant Singh and Chandra Shekhar Singh alias Brij Mohan Singh guilty of commiting the murder of their co-villager Arvind Singh.

Victim Arvind Singh,a resident of Naubatpur police station area was shot dead by the convicts in 2001.

The motive behind the killing was stated to be age old anomicity.
