LFW showcases 'Grace'
Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) on its second day at the NCPA today saw a ramp show 'Grace' by noted designer Anupama Dayal.
The 32 ensembles that made up 'Grace' swept the ramp with shades of grey, opals, silver, pebbles, pearls, black, white interwoven with shades of Kingfisher blue and Imperial red.
''Change they say is a yardstick for growth. This season's collection is a distinct shift from the past. My inspiration comes from the Japanese Samurai, an old Afgan rug and dry leaves in my garden,'' Anupama said.
''It's not about shedding your bold individual style and becoming an insipid wall flower. Grace goes beyond whimsical fashion into timelessness. It never goes out of style,'' she further added.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Anupama's vision is to create an international label that gives joy to the wearer.
Besides being available in India, her label is seen in several stores in Europe, Asia, South America and West Asia.
This September marked her participation at the prjt-a-porter Paris, where her label 'Anupama' got a tremendous response from international buyers and even won her a special mention in the prestigious Vogue magazine.
