Karnataka slump to 53/6

Hyderabad, Nov 1 (UNI) Table leaders Karnataka slumped to 53 for six while Andhra and Tamil Nadu made a good start on the penultimate day's play in the last round of the South Zone U-22 cricket championship being played here today.

The first two days of the matches were washed out by heavy rain.

Put in to bat Karnataka slumped to 53 losing six vital wickets in 19 overs of play on day two, which started at 1410 hours.

MP Arjun (9-4-13-3) and P.Kaushik Reddy ( 9-3-33-2) were the pick of the Hyderabad bowlers. There is a chance of Hyderabad gaining first innings lead on last day's play.

Tamil Nadu batting first, scored 203 in 64 overs losing four wickets. Anirudha Srikanth (77, 136 mts. 92 balls, 6x4,1x6), K Shrivasudevadas (33, 108 mts. 72 balls, 2x4), K H Gopinath (21, 1x4) and R Srinivasan (41 batting, 128 mts. 102 balls, 3x4) were the main scoreres. For Kerala Prashant took 2 for 49.

Andhra electing to bat first made 265 losing six wickets in 52 overs. V.Sandeep cracked a fine century (105, 168 mts. 107 balls, 11x4) while, N Krishnamurthy made half century (83, 161 mts. 133 balls, 7x4). Among Goa bowlers Sher Bahadur Yadav took 2 for 66.
