Ind-Swift gets ISO Certification

Chandigarh, Nov 1 (UNI) Chandigarh-based pharma major Ind-Swift Ltd, one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies, has become an ISO 9001: 2000 company.

This certification has been given by British Standard Institution, the National Standards body of the UK and a world leader in Management Systems Certification.

The certification has been given to Ind-Swift Ltd for the quality management system in manufacture and marketing of pharmaceutical formulations (tablets, capsules, ointments, injectables and dry syrups), according to its Chairman, Dr Gopal Munjal.

Ind-Swift, one of the leading research-driven pharmaceutical groups in India , has presence across 45 countries across the globe with two listed entities -- Ind-Swift Ltd (manufacturers of Finished Dosages) and Ind-Swift Laboratories Ltd (Manufacturers of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Advanced Intermediates) and one wholly-owned subsidiary in the US.

Presently, the combined turnover of Ind-Swift Ltd and Ind-Swift Laboratories Ltd is Rs 700 crore and expected to touch 1,000 crore mark by 2007. Exports alone contribute to 30 per cent of the group's turnover.

The certification will give the company a competitive edge over others and assist it to benefit from a number of marketing opportunities.
