Edited question agitates member
Bhopal, Nov 1 (UNI) A piquant situation arose in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly today when an opposition Congress member alleged his question was edited to such an extent that the government reply was not on expected lines.
During question hour, Mr Rajvardhan Singh (Congress) made the startling revelation that the intent of the question was drastically changed due to editing.
Speaker Ishwardas Rohani's intervention saying the lengthy question was edited did not satisfy the agitated member, who sought copies of bills alleging rampant corruption in works sanctioned under ''Jansampark Nidhi'' in Dhar district during 2004-06.
Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh said the bills were not with him as it was in the possession of district authorities.
The Congress member took exception to the minister's claim that the information sought by the member was given saying ''the given reply was not relevant to the original question sent by him''.
The issue was settled when the Speaker assured to probe into all irregularities brought to the government's notice.
