DK chief held for demo against judge's 'remarks'

Chennai, Nov 1 (UNI) Over 110 volunteers of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) including General Secretary K Veeramani were detained when they attempted to stage a demonstration here today.

The DK was protesting against some remarks allegedly made by Justice Mukhopadhya of Madras High Court against a senior IAS officer of the State Election Commission (SEC) in the court recently.

The judge allegedly made critical remarks against the SEC and its top officials while hearing a petition filed by the Opposition AIADMK seeking to declare the recent local body polls to Chennai Corporation as null and void and seeking fresh elections with the deployment of paramilitary forces.
