BSF steps up vigil in India-Bangladesh border
Shillong, Nov 1: The BSF beefed up vigil along the Indo-Bangla border following the recent political violence in Bangladesh.
''We have been instructed to keep an extra-vigil to check the movement of people along the international border,'' BSF Inspector General in-charge Asom, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland, Jyoti Prakash Sinha said yesterday.
He said the Home Ministry has information of 'likelihood exodus of Bangladeshi nationals' to India due to ongoing internal problem in that country. ''We have alerted all our forces to prevent anyone of sneaking inside India,'' he added.
According to Indian intelligence reports claimed that there is an attempt of Bangladeshi nationals to sneak inside India following the political clashes.
