Bajaj Oct bike sales jump 22 pc
New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Bajaj Auto Ltd today reported a 22 per cent jump in October sales of motorcycles at 2,51,022 units from 2,05,012 units sold in the same period an year ago.
Sales of two-wheelers grew 14.2 per cent at 2,51,071 units in the month against 2,19,927 units last year.
The company sold 28,507 three-wheelers during October, a rise of 30 per cent from 21,881 units in October 2005.
Exports recorded a 77 per cent growth over last October with 40,148 units as against 22,713 units in the same period in 2005.
''Based on outstanding high demand for Platina, Discover and Pulsar range of motorcyckes, we expect buoyant sales in November and December,'' the company said in a statement.
During the April-October period too, Bajaj Auto's bike sales jumped 34 per cent at 14,42,270 units as compared to 10,73,112 units sold in the first seven months last year.
During this period, the total two-wheeler sales stood at 14,57,133 units, 26 per cent up from 11,57,323 units, in the same period last year.
