11 fishermen reported missing

Chennai, Nov 1 (UNI) Eleven fishermen, who had ventured into the sea yesterday from the Kasimedu area in North Chennai, were reported missing.

Police sources said the two boats in which the fishermen went might be drifting in the sea due to the windy weather.

Fisheries Department officials launched search operations.

A search was also conducted in the sea using helicopters.

However, 12 other fishermen, who had entered the sea in two boats along with their missing counterparts, have returned to the shore.
