Sabha scam getting murkier

Guwahati, Oct 27 (UNI) The Sahitya Sabha scam has been getting murkier with its General Secretary Dr Jagadeesh Chandra Patgiri accusing President Kanak Sen Deka of the scam.

The Sabha, in its 87 year journey, had suspended Dr Patgiri for misappropriation of fund of the Asom Sahitya Sabha, the most respected organization of the state.

Addressing a news conference here today, Dr Patgiri said all the charges made against him were false and there were no anomalies and all the decision was taken jointly by the General Secretary and the President.

He said a conspiracy was hatched to remove and the President Deka was also party to that to ensure a second term as the President of the Sabha.

The Sahitya Sabha after suspending him has constituted a committee to investigate into the matter and find a report within two months.

Dr Patgiri said that his suspension was unconstitutional and he declared himself as the lawful General Secretary of the Asom Sahitya Sabha.
