Mobile density is comperatively highest in Mizoram

Aizawl, Oct 27 (UNI) Cellphone density in Mizoram has substentially increased and it has already attained highest position in NE proportionately with the population.

According BSNL officials, at present there are approximately 58,000 cell users, both post-paid and pre-paid while about 1,000 Airtel subscribers in Aizawl in a population of less than ten lakhs.

The BSNL pre-paid users have been complaining that there is permanent supply shortage in top-up coupons which has left them with no choice but to purchase recharge coupons many days before the service expiry date, officials said adding that the shortage of top-up coupons is due to excessive use of mobile phones by the subscribers.

"Each area has its own coupons and top-up coupons supplied to Mizoram and meant for three months are usually sold out within one month and initiative has already been taken to increase the state's quota in pre-paid top-up coupons," they added.
